- Montrose is a community of McCook County with a population of 472. It is located approx 45 minutes northwest of Sioux Falls and just 15 minutes east of Salem, SD.
- Central Farmers has grain and feed operations out of the Montrose office.
- Montrose does have its own school system, but co-ops with Salem(McCook Central) in sporting events.
